More on Info on Sea Moss & Vegetables

Sea plants are primarily composed of the very same components as our physical body, which is primarily water and a combination of various minerals. When our cells receive food with substances alike, they attract and are absorbed with ease. This ultimately enables these superfoods to assimilate into our system, same as with most fruits and other plants but at an arguably an even higher level! For example when say something like Calcium in a bioavailable plant form is ingested, it will assimilate in the bones where new cells are produced. The bones are crucial as they also support movement, the nervous system, and our skeletal structure. Calcium is essential throughout all ages of life and is a vital highly electric mineral. Calcium makes up most of the Inner marrow and outer structure of our bones, showing its importance as a key mineral. The bones also require magnesium, potassium, and phosphorus all these are abundant in sea plants. Using sea plants and algae (kelp, sea moss, dulse, etc) as a mineral supplement and a dietary staple can ensure our body is getting a large portion of the proper plant nutrition and minerals it craves. Sea plants offer a wide range of mineral and vitamin complexes which with their versatility, help with the cells ability to absorb all available micronutrients.

"Sea Moss"

CAUTION
With its recent boom in popularity and demand for its nutritional benefits, sea moss and other vegetables are being modified and cultivated inorganically and even industrially for other uses but sold as is and this can be dangerous with the potential use of chemicals and/or unnatural growing methods and also serve no real health benefits. Know what you buy and where it is sourced(sea veggies and algae grows all around the world). Be weary of polluted waters and major ports . Also stay away from pool grown or artificially grown sea moss that often is covered in salt. this is an inorganic method used to recreate the environment of ocean when growing it artificially (they also use machines to imitate waves). Sea moss should not have salt on it, sand is a different story. Natural organic moss was not meant to grow in such conditions so please be mindful. Natural seaweed and algae will vary in color and shape and at times will have sand, rocks, and sometimes sea shells embedded in them so be careful if you have severe shellfish allergies. Our sea moss is carefully washed times over to ensure removal of these things, but if you are ordering raw dried product don't be surprised if you see these. This is a positive sign and a symbol of being wildcrafted out in nature.

Sea moss is a term used to describe different types of algae and is a well known powerful alkaline superfood, native to the Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean waters. It is abundant with many forms, with its most famous today being Gracilaria and Chondrus Crispus commonly known as "Jamaican and Irish moss". These strains have been used for thousands of years, specifically throughout the Caribbean as a natural medicine and aphrodisiac and in parts of Europe where it was used to fight hunger during plagues and famine. In recent days it's used in many popular drinks and food dishes in those same areas. Gracilaria (Jamaican moss) is harvested in tropical climates while Chondrus Crispus (Irish moss) is more sustainable in the colder regions of the Atlantic, colors and shapes differ accordingly, and they both have their benefits and unique compounds. These strains of sea moss are specifically meant for the human biological makeup, and designed to feed the human body as well as many other lifeforms. This plant powerhouse can provide our bodies with full spectrum nourishment with the minerals many of us lack. The body requires minerals to conduct electricity in order to function and detox properly. Sea moss is one of the many mineral rich plants of the world, but what makes sea moss different is it is one of the few that actually grow from a rock, which explains the dense mineral content. Different species of sea moss are now being cultivated and farmed along shorelines after its peak in demand recently. People have began using rope lines to grow the moss instead of its original rock and mineral base. This has caused division amongst the sea moss community as for one side it is easier to harvest, more sustainable, and protecting marine habitats that rely on the wild moss. On the other hand some say farmed sea moss lacks the dense nutritional value and natural organic occurrence that wildcrafted plants are famous for; many don't glorify it as the same superfood, but it still has potential benefits, being that it is grown and exposed to the alkaline mineral water of the sea. There are also claims of commercial cultivation in artificial pools which hold no real benefits to the body and can be dangerous as they use machines and chemicals to mimic the composition of the ocean in order for the algae's to grow.

Chondrus Crispus(Irish Moss)
Wide, flat leaves/ harvested in parts of Europe and was used to fight starvation during the Great Famine (Ireland-1846)

There are purple, gold. and sometimes green varieties for both of these species depending on seasons, water temp, and even nutrient density as they contain different biophotons and phytonutrients

Gracilaria
Small, thin strands with a long stringy texture/harvested in Caribbean islands, used in foods and drinks for its superfood characteristics

Gold moss is high an amino acid called in L- Arginine, which is known to be a cell proliferator.
L- Arginine accelerates growth in the cell groups and rebuilds healthy mass to on the body. Good for those trying to gain weight, but should be used sparingly especially if you suffer from conditions like cancer where cell proliferation needs to be controlled.

Purple moss is better for those focused on cleansing but still need those extra minerals in their diet. This type of moss is usually higher in the amino acid L- Lysine and low in Arginine. This benefits people with Hsv, Cancer, tumor growths or Parasitic Infections because it still delivers the minerals and amino acids, but also slows down growth (proliferation) and replication of abnormal cells. These are diseases that need to be starved and flushed out of the body *tumors, dead cells, worms/parasites* instead of accelerating growth to any/all of the above that may be present in the body.
*(Stay away from gold moss which contains more  L-Arginine if healing from these)*.

Plants from the ocean are a primitive and amazing species that have countless varieties of size, color, shape, and function. These so called "plants" are unique and differ widely in characteristics from land plants and even each other, but they all play a vital role in aquatic ecosystems around the world by being a food source, habitat, and protection for aquatic organisms. As an autotrophic species, seaweeds or sea vegetables convert water and carbon dioxide to sugar through the process of photosynthesis and the chemical reaction results in the release of oxygen. The ocean actually supply over 50 percent of the oxygen on the planet and absorb up to 30 percent of carbon dioxide in the environment with the help of these special plants and phytoplankton that feed on these plants. Apart from creating their own organic nutrients from their environment, they also stabilize the mineral contents in the water, absorbing excessive nutrients that may damage the ecosystem around them! Alongside being a great food source for not only marine life but also land dwellers, some species fight global temperature changes by absorbing carbon from the environment, and can even act as a bioindicator when there is imbalances due to waste or pollution. Sea weeds began to flower(algal blooming) to compensate and store the excessive nutrients, resulting in a dense forest of seaweed to both absorb and pinpoint the are. It is truly magnificent the way nature rises to the occasion without help from anyone or anything! Now knowing the importance of these miracle plants we must do our part to protect the waters from excessive human interference but also to harvest correctly and sustainably. The correct way to harvest seaweeds is to leave the base and remove the majority of the plant so the foliage is able to stay alive and grow back! If divers are removing the base or its connections to the ground there is no guarantee that the life will sustain and that can damage the ecosystem in different areas. Sea plants are as durable if not more than our land life but should be treated with tediousness and the upmost respect because they cannot be replanted the same way, yet. Recently more studies are proving the beneficial capabilities of our ocean habitats to not only our health but also to the natural environment resulting in projects and proposals worldwide to begin farming seaweed. One specific proposal termed ‘ocean afforestation’ aims to decrease carbon levels through means of creating and sustaining seaweed farms in the ocean like kelp for example that not only is great in carbon sequestration, but a great well know food source as well.

The lack of knowledge and focus on marine life and preservation is alarming, knowing of its power and how vital it is for all lifeforms and the environment! More research is focused on space and other planets than our own oceans. We at Grounded want to promote awareness of the dangers and pollution we are causing collectively. Countless marine species and coral reefs are dying all around world due to our interference on ecosystems, They have even found microplastic in the deepest discovered parts of our ocean. The extinction of these life forms would be devastating to our planet and life as we know it. We must do our part living side by side with nature and live sustainably; Stop or learn to limit the amount of fish or seafood buy, practice minimalism, use reusable plastics, recycle to keep trash out of our oceans, and stop supporting big fishing and mining companies that are destroying ecosystems one after another! We have plenty of resources to go around and technology to make things more efficient today. They have to compromise or our world will continue to suffer along with all of her residents. Something has to change to preserve the world below sea level, as well as the world on land above.  Help us help the waters and marine life by  being Plant based and Resourceful!
